Objective:
Students in English will work to improve their reading and writing as well as their vocabulary, listening, and speaking skills.  In class students will be expected to participate in discussion and group activities.  The literature will be primarily written by English and European authors, and will complement and correspond to historical periods studied in their Social Studies courses.  Students are expected to reflect and analyze the reading assignments they are learning about and provide significance through writing analytical essays.  A large portion of the first semester will be devoted to the Research Paper.  Students will learn to improve their skills in research, speaking, and writing, which are major components for their Research Paper.
