 NEWS ABOUT CAMPUS

 

SHOT PUT AND DISCUS THROWERS – All students interested in throwing this spring are encouraged to meet in the weight room for information on upcoming season.  There is a meeting in weight room on Friday December 16th at lunch.

 

Second Semester Schedule Change Requests: If you want to request a schedule change for the second semester, Schedule Change Request Forms are available in the Counseling Office starting December 5th. You must complete the form and return it your counselor on one of these three days: December 19th, 20th, 21st   11:45am-2:30pm

  

Girls Basketball - The girls varsity basketball team has their last home game of 2011 against Chula Vista on Friday night in the Stampede Arena at 6:00 p.m.  Bring your friends out and get the gym rockin'!

 

SPENCE REESE SCHOLARSHIPS – Attention Senior boys!  If you are planning to attend college in the Fall and major in Medicine, Engineering, Law or Political Science. See Mrs. Weether to apply for a $4,000 per year for 4 years scholarship.

 

ATTENTION SENIORS – Last chance to get Grad Nite tickets for $65.00.  Purchase tickets on Fridays at lunch in the Student parking lot or mail in orders before December 16th.

 

BEST BUDDIES – We are having our Christmas Party this Friday the 16th at lunch in Room 722 – not the PAC.  All members should attend this fun filled holiday event!

 

GEAR UP – Jersey Mike’s Scholarship Fundraiser.  Get a FREE Sub sandwich at Jersey Mike’s in San Marcos all week until December 16th, ONLY with a $2.00 donation for the Scholarship fund.  Stop by GEAR UP Office, Room 348A for a free sandwich card.

 

PEER COUNSELING – Peer counseling is available for all students to talk about personal, academic and any other issues you might have.  Come by any day and time to request an appointment in the counseling office.

 

CLUBS

 

MEETINGS HELD EVERYDAY

 

REACH (an after school program) will be meeting EVERYDAY from 2:30-6pm.  In room 604 you will get help with homework and it’s a great place to meet people and have fun.

 

MATH LAB- Come and receive Math tutoring DAILY in Room 822 starting at 2:30-4:00.

 

e2020 - Classes during 7th period are being held in Room 218.

 

 

MEETINGS HELD ON MONDAYS

 

AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL – Human Rights Club will meet on Mondays in Room 115 during lunch.

 

BALLET FOLKLORICO CLUB – Meetings are held in Room 815. 

 

LATINOS UNITED- will be having their meeting in room 721 during lunch. 

  

HIP-HOP CLUB- We will be meeting Mondays and Thursdays in the Dance room.

 

VIDEO GAMERS will meet on Monday’s and Wednesdays from 2:30-3:30 in room 324.  

 

THE MATH CLUB would like to invite you to join them, in room 816 at lunch.

 

FRENCH CLUB will meet the FIRST and THIRD Mondays of every month at lunch in room 710.

THE ANIMAL CLUB- Join our club and help us save animals!  Meet us in room 818 during lunch.

 

SPEECH and DEBATE CLUB- Improve your speaking skills and challenge your mind, after school from 2:30-3:30 in room 806.

 

KEY CLUB- Come join us in room 118 to discuss future events and community service.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL CLUB- wants you to help our environment, Tuesday’s during lunch in room 119.

 

MEETINGS HELD ON WEDNESDAYS

 

AVID CLUB – Come and join us for a great opportunity to explore important facts that will prepare you for college.  Meet during lunch in room 120.

 

Academic Team All current team members and interested students welcome!  We meet and practice every Wednesday from 2:45 - 4pm in room 802.  Join us on Dec 7th for an online competition!

 

Don’t forget to come to VIDEO GAMING in room 324 after school.

 

THE BLACK STUDENT UNION meets during lunch, in room 228.  It is designed to create a support service, and curriculum that will enhance the educational experience of all students from African American decent.

 

GUITAR CLUB - Come and join us at lunch to play and jam together. Meet us in room 324.

 

GAY-STRAIGHT ALLIANCE CLUB is having a meeting during lunch.  Come join us in room 127.  All are welcomed!

 

ANIME CLUB- Come and join us at Anime Club!  Our meeting will be in room 809 at lunch.

ART CLUB – Meeting every Thursday at lunch in Room 343.  Come express you creativity!!

APSU- (ASIAN PACIFIC STUDENT UNION) Are you in search for diversity and unity?  Everyone is welcome to our club.  All races, all faces!  Learn about the different cultures in our club, every Thursday during lunch, in room 818.
