Barbara
Benavidez graduated from UCSB
with a BA degree in Physical Education. After
teaching in Long Beach and Los Angeles for 5 years, she realized her
passion was working with students with exceptional needs. Barbara earned her Masters
in the field of Special Education. She began teaching in the Special
Education Department at Vista High School in 1981 and became Department
Chair in 1982. Barbara
became an original Longhorn when Rancho opened working in the Special
Education Department as the Department Chair, Scheduling Counselor, and
Resource Specialist. She
has been part of the District Crisis and Conflict Resolution Teams, and works together with the school
psychologist, district counselor Ken Breeding, as well as the
counselors at RBV. |
